Overview

In this role you will maintain and improve a suite of live, internally built web applications used across international offices, starting with support, bug fixes, and feature work and advancing toward owning the product suite. You will join a small technical team acting as custodians of critical front-end systems, balancing practical delivery with live-system discipline. The role emphasizes rapid, iterative shipping and close collaboration with non-technical teams to deliver usable software. You will engage with modern technologies and emerging AI-assisted development to enhance end-user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and fix live frontend systems with a focus on stability and rapid delivery
  • Implement features and improvements on internally built web applications
  • Collaborate with a small technical team and non-technical stakeholders to translate needs into working solutions
  • Ensure changes are tested in staging before production and monitor live systems post-deployment
  • Bridge frontend work with Node.js/Express backends and REST APIs
  • Leverage LLM tools for code generation, debugging, and reviews and ship AI-powered features

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript (React/Next.js not required)
  • Comfort reading, debugging, and extending Node.js/Express REST APIs
  • Strong SQL skills with T-SQL for large production databases
  • Experience integrating frontend with RESTful and third-party APIs
  • Experience with multi-role auth (SSO, RBAC)
  • Working knowledge of Azure App Service, deployment slots, log streaming, and Azure DevOps
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit/subsystem/system tests for frontend apps
  • Hands-on experience with Claude and other LLM models for code generation, debugging, and reviews
  • Experience shipping LLM-powered features and integrating in-product AI with streaming responses and robust error handling
  • Rapid iteration and a pragmatic, show-don’t-tell development approach
  • Production instincts: reproduce, root-cause, verify in staging, and clean deployment
  • Solid design instincts for web layouts and user journeys
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Stakeholder engagement and translating complaints into defects
  • Independent drive to deliver fixes and features to production
  • Vanilla frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Node.js/Express REST API familiarity
  • SQL/T-SQL for production databases
