Head of Compliance UK

Overview

In this London-based leadership role, you will steer the UK compliance agenda for Saxo Capital Markets and align with Group Compliance to support responsible growth. You will lead a small UK team and partner with European colleagues to meet global and local regulatory expectations. Your work encompasses regulatory reporting, advisory services, and monitoring programmes across the UK and EU framework. This is an impactful position that shapes compliance strategy in a fast-paced, international trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and execution of compliance activities, including monitoring programmes, advisory services and reporting to management
• Lead and support the UK Compliance team while collaborating with the broader Saxo Group Compliance team
• Hold SM16 & SMF17 senior management functions and manage regulatory reporting and communications with local regulators
• Coordinate with Group Compliance and other European teams to ensure alignment
• Stay informed on evolving business and regulatory developments and provide proactive compliance guidance
• Contribute to regular compliance and AML reporting to the CEO and key stakeholders

Key requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Compliance or AML within financial services or consulting
• Deep expertise in Financial Crime, MiFID, MAR
• Strong understanding of UK and European financial services regulations
• Hands-on experience dealing with regulators and in regulatory reporting
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills
• Demonstrated leadership abilities or clear leadership examples
• Independent and proactive mindset to ensure regulatory compliance across local and group requirements
