SEND TA with Personal Care and Moving and Handling

Overview

In this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you support children with complex needs across Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley. You’ll provide calm, compassionate assistance to help pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn. You will work with teachers, therapists and other professionals to create positive learning experiences, including personal care and safe moving and handling. This is a rewarding position with immediate and September starts, offering meaningful impact on every child’s progress.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex needs (autism, PMLD, physical disabilities)
• Assist with personal care with dignity and respect
• Use moving and handling techniques safely
• Encourage communication, independence and emotional wellbeing
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other professionals
• Support participation in classroom activities and celebrate achievements
• Adhere to safeguarding requirements and maintain a safe learning environment
