Sr Portfolio Accounting Analyst

Overview

In this role, you ensure the integrity of Wellington’s accounting records by reconciling client positions and cash with custodians and banks. You will work with global teams to identify break patterns and drive process improvements, using bank portals and data analysis to produce accurate, auditable reconciliations. Your work underpins investor and client reporting and supports our outsourced teams on escalated issues. You will help maintain a culture of meticulous attention to detail and clear communication, contributing to our mission of investment excellence.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve open reconciliation items with internal groups
• Detect break patterns and drive process and control improvements
• Research position, cash, and market value differences using bank portals
• Maintain audit trails and documentation for in-flight items
• Analyze bank data to enhance reconciliation quality
• Guide outsourced team members on escalated issues or inquiries

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 5-7 years in Financial Services
• Accounting, custody, and/or reconciliation experience
• Experience with data in Excel
• SQL or Python knowledge is a plus
• Deep understanding of fixed income and equity accounting
• Baseline understanding of derivatives and synthetic exposures
• Strong communication and attention to detail
• Comfort working across a global team
