Transport & Supply Chain Management – Placement Year

Overview

As a placement student in Inbound Transport, you will support daily supply chain tasks across a global network of suppliers. You will gain practical experience within transport management, collaborating with internal teams to ensure timely material delivery and process improvements. You’ll work on reporting, emergency deliveries, and system administration to support an efficient inbound flow. This role offers hands-on exposure to logistics operations in a world-class automotive environment and opportunities to impact supplier performance and project initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Update Transport Service Provider performance reports (monthly inbound)
• Handle material delivery queries and tracking
• Administer emergency delivery processes to ensure on-time parts delivery
• Organize outbound material transport
• Report haulier claims (damages, missing parts)
• Conduct process analysis, monitoring, and improvement
• Inbound transport (DLSS) system administration
• Support network strategy implementation for new supply chains
• Project management activities

Key requirements

• Business orientated degree in progress with 2:2 or above (or equivalent)
• Excel proficiency (Microsoft Office)
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Familiarity with data analysis (Big Data/Analytics) and database creation is desirable
• Attention to detail
• Team player with time management and prioritization skills
