Informatics Technical Service Specialist UKI

Overview

In this field-based role you will deliver and support complex IT infrastructure solutions for Abbott’s Digital Health applications. You’ll guide projects from implementation through optimization, providing training and ongoing technical support. As part of the AlinIQ Informatics Team, you help laboratories leverage diagnostics informatics to improve workflow and accuracy. You will travel across UKI to engage customers, build trusted relationships, and drive solution enhancements that advance patient care.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure AlinIQ Digital Health applications per customer requirements
• Collaborate with project teams to define and validate technical needs
• Integrate software and hardware components and suggest appropriate infrastructure
• Deliver structured training to end users
• Provide post-implementation support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor
• Track progress, document updates, and maintain project records
• Travel to customer sites as required (up to 80%)

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical/Hospital Informatics, or related field
• Technical understanding of IT systems in healthcare, diagnostics, or lab environments
• Experience installing, configuring, or supporting laboratory informatics systems (e.g., LIS, middleware, analyser management, inventory systems)
• Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
• Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, Smartsheet
• Willingness to travel regularly
