Principal Transport Planner Consultant

Overview

In this role you lead and support development planning projects in Bristol, guiding work from feasibility through planning and appeals. You will prepare Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans, and advise clients on transport strategy to maximise scheme value. You’ll liaise with planning and highway authorities and manage projects, budgets, and client relations. The role also involves identifying new opportunities to grow the client base within a collaborative team. This is a chance to shape transport strategy for varied developments and progress toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support development planning projects from feasibility to planning/appeal
• Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Advise clients on transport strategy to maximise value and deliverability
• Liaise with planning authorities, highway authorities and other stakeholders
• Manage projects and budgets and develop strong client relationships
• Contribute to business development by identifying and pursuing new opportunities

Key requirements

• Degree in a relevant subject
• More than five years’ experience in UK development planning
• Committed to working towards chartership
• Strong technical judgement and clear, confident communication
• Proven ability to manage projects and client relationships
• Business development skills with ability to identify and develop opportunities
