Job Description:

Central London | Permanent | £95,000 + 25% Bonus

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join a successful, international consumer business based in Central London.

This is a broad leadership role with real visibility across the organisation. You’ll take ownership of financial reporting, controls, technical accounting and statutory compliance across a multi-entity group, while leading and developing a team of Financial Accountants.

It’s a role that offers far more than just month-end reporting. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, helping to strengthen controls, improve processes and drive meaningful change across the finance function.

The Role

You’ll lead the Financial Accounting team and take responsibility for ensuring the business maintains a strong, accurate and well-controlled finance environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of Financial Accountants
  • Owning the month-end and year-end close process
  • Overseeing financial reporting across multiple entities
  • Reviewing accounting entries, accruals, provisions and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Providing technical accounting guidance across IFRS and FRS 102
  • Managing external audits and overseeing statutory accounts
  • Taking ownership of Companies House, HMRC and wider regulatory requirements
  • Strengthening financial controls, governance and risk management
  • Driving process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiatives
  • Partnering with Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing on accounting and reporting matters
  • Working closely with Group Finance and senior leadership on reporting, projects and wider business initiatives

About You

We’re looking for a technically strong, commercially minded accountant who enjoys leading people and improving how finance operates.

You’ll ideally have:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • 3+ years’ post-qualified experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • Experience managing external audits and statutory reporting
  • Previous experience managing, coaching or developing finance professionals
  • A strong understanding of financial controls and governance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A genuine interest in process improvement, automation and finance transformation

This would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of finance but doesn’t want to be confined to a purely reporting-focused position.

You’ll have the opportunity to lead a team, influence the wider business and help shape how the finance function continues to evolve.
