The Role

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential Key Stage 5 teaching.
• Teach a broad curriculum covering English Language, Literature, reading and writing.
• Inspire students to develop a genuine passion for English and wider reading.
• Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to support their academic development.
• Encourage critical thinking, creativity and effective communication.
• Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues within a supportive and forward-thinking English department.

The Ideal Candidate

• A degree in English, English Literature or a related subject.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A passion for teaching English and inspiring young people.
• The ability to create engaging, challenging and accessible lessons.
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing and development of students.
• ECTs are encouraged to apply, as the school offers a supportive environment for teachers at all stages of their careers.
