Make a Real Difference Every Day

Join Trust We Care as a Support Worker and help adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and complex needs live fulfilling and independent lives. You’ll provide person-centred support, build meaningful relationships, and make a genuine positive impact in people’s lives every day. Full training is provided, with opportunities for ongoing development and career progression. Experience is welcome but not essential.

About Us

Trust We Care is a CQC-registered supported living provider based in Leicester. We support adults and younger people with learning disabilities, autism, mental health challenges, and complex needs across Leicestershire and Rutland.

Our approach is rooted in person-centred communication and a genuine belief that, with the right support, the people we work with can live full and independent lives.

The Role

As a Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of what we do. You’ll work alongside the people we support as a trusted presence in their everyday lives, building genuine relationships and advocating for the things that matter to them.

No two shifts are the same. On any given day, you might support someone to cook a meal, access their community, manage a health need, work towards a personal goal, or simply have a good day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual support plans.
  • Build consistent, trusted relationships with the people you support.
  • Potentially take on a keyworker role for an individual as the role develops.
  • Promote independence, informed choice, and community inclusion.
  • Support people with personal care, health and medication needs, and daily living skills.
  • Use calm, consistent, non-aversive approaches when supporting people who display behaviours that challenge.
  • Accompany people on activities, including days out, holidays, social events, and swimming.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider team.
  • Uphold each person’s dignity, rights, privacy, and professional boundaries at all times.

Hours and Shift Pattern

Trust We Care operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week to provide continuity of support.

This is a full-time role of 36 or more hours per week. Shift patterns are variable and may include:

  • Sleeping nights
  • Waking nights
  • Weekends and bank holidays

A valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport are preferred, although public transport links are available.

Who We’re Looking For

Experience in health and social care is welcome but not essential. What matters most is the kind of person you are. We will invest in your training from your first day.

  • Genuine warmth, empathy, and care for others
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliability and a flexible approach to work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to dignity, respect, and professional boundaries
  • Willingness to complete the Care Certificate within 12 weeks of starting
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Previous experience in a care or support role
  • QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards a qualification
  • Understanding of learning disabilities, autism, or mental health
  • Familiarity with CQC standards and the Care Act
  • Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle

What We Offer

  • £12.73 per hour
  • 28 days’ annual leave pro rata, inclusive of bank holidays
  • Fully funded Enhanced DBS check
  • Ongoing specialist development based on the needs of the service, including safeguarding, positive behaviour support, medication, mental health awareness, epilepsy, and MCA/DoLS
  • Regular supervision to review your progress and support your development
  • A transparent, values-led team with an open and honest working culture

Safer Recruitment and Eligibility

An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. It is a condition of employment that successful applicants maintain a subscription to the DBS Update Service.

All applicants must have the right to work in the UK for the duration of their employment.

Trust We Care is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
