Contract Temporary

Duration 8-12 weeks

Company

Polari Labs is a London-based startup pushing the frontier of sexual health innovation and building the world’s first platform for anorectal health and pleasure. Our first product,A-BALL, is the first-of-its-kind alternative to douching, designed to make preparation for anorectal intercourse spontaneous and hassle-free. By rethinking a routine that has seen little meaningful innovation, we’re creating an entirely new product category.

We’re currently running a consumer trial and are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented laboratory technician to take ownership of product production during this critical phase.

Role

This is an 8-12 week contract position supporting the production of A-BALL for our ongoing consumer trial.

You’ll be responsible for producing A-BALL in our London lab, following an established production process to ensure we have a reliable and consistent supply for trial participants. Once trained, you’ll independently manage day-to-day production, carry out routine quality checks and keep accurate production records.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys laboratory work, is comfortable with repetitive processes and takes pride in working accurately and consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Produce A-BALL batches in line with established procedures and production schedules.
  • Follow production processes accurately to maintain consistent product quality between batches.
  • Use aseptic techniques during production and handling to minimise contamination risk.
  • Carry out straightforward routine quality checks to confirm batches meet agreed specifications.
  • Maintain clear and accurate batch, production and QC records.
  • Prepare materials, equipment and workspaces for production.
  • Keep track of laboratory consumables and flag when stock needs to be replenished.
  • Keep the laboratory and production areas clean, organised and ready for use.
  • Identify and flag any issues or deviations from the established production process.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure sufficient A-BALL supply is available for the consumer trial.

Requirements

  • Experience following laboratory protocols or standard operating procedures accurately and consistently.
  • Experience with aseptic technique, including working in laminar flow hoods and/or biosafety cabinets.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to repetitive tasks.
  • Comfortable maintaining accurate laboratory and production records.
  • Reliable and organised, with the ability to manage day-to-day production independently once trained.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment.
  • Degree, laboratory qualification or equivalent practical experience in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a laboratory technician, production technician or similar hands-on laboratory role.
  • Experience working in a laboratory production or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience carrying out routine quality control checks.
  • Experience working in a quality-controlled environment such as GMP or GLP.

If you have a medical condition or an individual need for an adjustment to our process, and you believe this may affect your ability to be at your best, please let us know so we can talk about how we can best support you and make any adjustments that may be needed.
