Cultural Liaison Officer

Company: Martin House
Apply for the Cultural Liaison Officer
Location: Boston
Job Description:

Job alerts Grove Road, Boston Spa, Wetherby, West Yorkshire, LS23 6TX United Kingdom

Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 420 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in their own homes. We also support more than 150 bereaved families each year.

We believe that every child with a life-limiting condition and their family should have equal access to the care, support and compassion they need. However, statistics and experience tell us that a number of children with life-limiting conditions are still struggling to access hospice care, despite our existing community services. The overarching purpose of this role is to help us to break down barriers and to reach as many families as possible with a palliative care offer that is right for them.

We are now looking for a Cultural Liaison Officer to cover maternity leave. You will play a pivotal role in helping us reach and support families from diverse communities. Working closely with children, young people and their families, you will help us better understand cultural needs, build trusted relationships, and develop services that are accessible, inclusive and responsive to the communities we serve. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by championing equity, breaking down barriers, and ensuring that more families can benefit from a palliative care offer that is right for them. This is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to help ensure that every family feels seen, heard, understood and supported. By bringing your cultural knowledge, lived experience and passion for community engagement, you will help shape a more inclusive hospice service and make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.
