Test Development Team Lead

Overview

In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide a small team of test developers and QA engineers to validate a complex IoT collaboration platform spanning embedded devices, mobile, web, cloud services, and Azure-based connectivity. You’ll shape the testing strategy, drive automation, and build AI-assisted test infrastructure to ensure product quality before release. You will work cross-functionally with software, DevOps, product, and customer experience teams to raise testability and observability. This role offers impact through scalable testing, AI-driven insights, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Test Developers and Quality Engineers
• Define and execute testing strategies across embedded systems, cloud services, web, and mobile apps
• Own release qualification and ensure high confidence in product quality before deployment
• Develop scalable automated testing frameworks and expand coverage across devices, APIs, and cloud services
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and improve testability/observability with development teams
• Lead AI-assisted testing initiatives to observe behavior, analyze logs, and generate actionable recommendations
• Manage quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting related to product readiness
• Participate in hiring, coaching, performance management, and career development

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years in software development, test automation, or quality engineering
• 2+ years leading technical teams or mentoring engineers
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#
• Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
• Experience testing distributed systems, cloud services, and APIs
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps
