Overview

As Principal / Senior Associate in Shoosmiths’ market-leading Energy and Infrastructure Banking and Finance group, you will drive complex energy and infrastructure financings in London. You will work across the full transaction lifecycle, shaping deals from structuring to financial close, and collaborate with lenders, borrowers, sponsors and corporate clients. You’ll engage directly with clients and contribute to the growth of the London practice while benefiting from a supportive, integrated national team. Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of energy and infrastructure finance transactions (early-stage structuring to financial close)
• Draft and negotiate facilities agreements and security documents
• Negotiate intercreditor arrangements
• Coordinate with corporate, commercial, real estate, and restructuring teams, and overseas lawyers for integrated client service
• Engage directly with clients and take matter ownership with opportunities for client development
• Contribute to shaping the London team and regional brand within a national practice
• Participate in sector group initiatives and longer-term progression aligned with firm strategy

Key requirements

• At least 4 years’ PQE in bank debt finance with a focus on energy and infrastructure
• Experience liaising with lenders, borrowers, intermediaries and investors across the transaction lifecycle
• Strong understanding of SPV, acquisition and corporate financings
• Proactive, inquisitive mindset with a people-centric approach
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams and manage client relationships
