Project Manager – Airport Retail

Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end delivery of retail concession fit-outs within a fast-paced, live airport environment. You will coordinate design, procurement and construction, ensuring on-time delivery, budget control and strict safety standards. You liaise with airport authorities, retailers and contractors to minimize disruption to operations, while maintaining compliance. This is a high-visibility role that shapes passenger-facing retail spaces and operational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of concession projects (fit-outs, refurbishments, openings)
• Coordinate design, procurement and construction phases to meet timelines
• Liaise with airport authorities, retailers, designers, and contractors for alignment and compliance
• Ensure works comply with airport regulations, security protocols, and health & safety standards
• Monitor budgets, schedules, and risks; provide stakeholder reporting
• Oversee on-site contractor performance for quality and adherence to specs
• Facilitate permits and access in a live airport setting

Key requirements

• Proven experience delivering retail fit-out or concession projects, ideally in airports/transport hubs
• Strong understanding of construction project management principles and lifecycle delivery
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders in regulated environments
• Qualifications in construction, project management, or related discipline (e.g. HNC/HND, degree, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety compliance
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
