BMS Project Engineer

Overview

As a Project Engineer, you will lead BMS-focused projects from design through commissioning, applying hands-on expertise in BMS design, implementation, and testing. You will work within Honeywell Building Automation to deliver safe, energy-efficient building operations. You’ll translate client needs into practical BMS solutions and support planning, design, and documentation efforts. The role offers impact across complex projects and cross-functional collaboration, with a focus on advancing building performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Electronic BMS systems engineering, implementation and documentation
• Translate customer needs into workable BMS solutions
• Produce hardware BMS design deliverables from specs and drawings
• Support Project Manager with planning, scheduling and QA
• Develop detailed BMS designs, control strategies, and integration plans for HVAC
• Oversee project performance and technical execution
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities
• Generate BMS database and required documentation
• Create schematics for BMS panels and control diagrams
• Assist with sales and project estimates

Key requirements

• Engineering degree or substantial experience in Electrical/Electronic field
• BMS / HVAC engineering experience – 5+ years
• Expertise in electronic BMS systems (hardware and software)
• Expertise in Niagara Framework – design & commissioning
• Proficiency with CPO Studio for control logic development and system configuration
• Good understanding of IT infrastructure and remote interconnection
• Proactive, organized with proven delivery reliability
• Experience with control panels and/or MCC design
• Solid understanding of high-end BMS applications
• Self-motivated learner of new products and applications
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
