Model Risk Actuary

Overview

As Model Risk Analyst in our global re-insurer’s model risk team, you will review and develop models used across departments and product lines to ensure sound risk controls. You will engage stakeholders across the business to align on modelling approaches and solutions. The role offers a holistic view of how the firm uses models and acts as a launchpad to explore other teams after 2–3 years. A creative, non-template approach is essential to tailor models to each case.

Responsibilities

• Review and develop actuarial models used across departments and product lines
• Assess model risk and propose appropriate controls and improvements
• Engage with stakeholders across the business to implement modelling solutions
• Investigate and tailor modelling approaches for non-standard cases
• Collaborate on cross-functional model-related initiatives

Key requirements

• Fully qualified actuary or 1–2 papers remaining
• Excellent modelling knowledge
