Client Accountant – Funds (Private Equity)

Overview

In this role you will be the primary day-to-day contact for private equity, real estate, credit or debt funds, handling fund accounting, client deliverables, investor transactions, and financial reporting. You will maintain strong client relationships while ensuring regulatory and reporting compliance. You’ll oversee cash movements and ensure timely, high-quality reporting, while mentoring colleagues and driving process improvements. This position offers exposure to cross-functional stakeholder work and meaningful contributions to client outcomes within a global, sustainability-minded firm.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day relationships with designated fund clients as the front-office contact
• Review quarterly and annual financial statements and fund accounting to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, IFRS, and fund documentation
• Oversee investor drawdown and distribution calculations and recording of cash movements
• Own client deliverables by coordinating timelines, monitoring progress, and resolving issues for timely reporting
• Mentor team members, contribute to process improvements, and strengthen stakeholder management and risk control

Key requirements

• Higher-level education qualification or equivalent, IATI qualification, or ACCA/ACA/CIMA (or qualified by experience)
• 3+ years in a professional office environment, preferably in financial services or accounting practice with multiple client relationships
• Strong accounting knowledge with experience reviewing working paper files and financial statements
• Proven experience managing client relationships and communicating with stakeholders
• Intermediate Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
