Commercial Manager – Central Government

Overview

In this role you will lead large procurement initiatives within the public sector, shaping procurement strategies and documentation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and work closely with legal teams on terms and conditions. You will manage contract and framework activities and participate in project and stakeholder meetings. This role offers exposure to complex procurement exercises and supplier relationship management, with training available for SAP Ariba if needed. You will work mainly remotely with occasional in-person coordination at the London office, contributing to impactful public-sector outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead large procurement projects
• Engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers
• Develop procurement strategies and supporting documentation
• Attend project, stakeholder and team meetings
• Collaborate with legal teams on commercial terms and conditions
• Support contract and framework management activities

Key requirements

• Significant procurement experience, especially services procurement
• Public sector procurement experience
• Experience leading large and complex procurement exercises
• Strong stakeholder management and engagement skills
• Procurement strategy development and market analysis experience
• Experience managing procurement evaluations and commercial negotiations
• Confidence working with legal teams on terms and conditions
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• SAP Ariba experience (not essential, training can be provided)
