Head of Service – Building & Facilities Management

Lead building, compliance & FM services across a public sector estate.

We’re working with a Local Authority seeking an experienced Head of Service – Building & FM to oversee building maintenance, statutory compliance, FM services and capital works across its corporate estate.

Working alongside an established Estates team, you’ll coordinate building surveying activity, planned maintenance programmes and contractor performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead building maintenance and surveying activity
• Support capital project delivery
• Oversee FM services and PPM programmes
• Monitor statutory compliance across the estate
• Manage and challenge contractor performance
• Work closely with Building, Mechanical and Electrical teams

What we’re looking for:

• Strong background in Property, FM, Building Surveying or Compliance
• Experience managing maintenance programmes and contractors
• Good understanding of statutory compliance
• Local Authority or public sector experience desirable
