Rate: £400-£600 per day

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Technical Advisor to provide expert guidance on network architecture, infrastructure strategy and technology transformation initiatives.

This role is ideal for an experienced networking professional who enjoys influencing technical decisions, advising stakeholders and ensuring network solutions align with business requirements, security standards and operational objectives.

Working across multiple projects, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to senior management, project teams, suppliers and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on enterprise networking solutions and infrastructure strategy.
• Review and assess network designs, proposed changes and technical solutions.
• Support network transformation, cloud migration and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Advise on best practice across network security, resilience and performance.
• Work with project teams to ensure networking considerations are incorporated into solution design.
• Provide technical governance and assurance for network-related projects.
• Engage with third-party suppliers and technology partners.
• Identify technical risks and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Produce and review technical documentation and architecture proposals.
• Support procurement and technology selection activities.

Essential Experience

• Significant experience within enterprise networking environments.
• Strong understanding of:
  • WAN and LAN technologies
  • Routing and switching
  • Network security
  • VPN technologies
  • Firewalls
  • Cloud networking concepts

• Experience reviewing and approving technical designs.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders and project teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Experience

• Azure and/or AWS networking.
• SD-WAN solutions.
• Network architecture experience.
• Cyber security knowledge.
• Public sector, utilities, financial services or large enterprise experience.
• CCNP, CCIE or equivalent certification.
