Remote based. Paying between 70,000-80,000, depending on experience.

We’re recruiting for a Senior VMWare Platform Engineer to join a growing Platform Engineering team within a leading Managed Services Provider focused on VMware Cloud Foundation, private cloud, Kubernetes and automation technologies.

This is a hands‑on senior engineering role where you’ll help design, build and enhance enterprise cloud platforms, improve automation capabilities and provide technical leadership across complex infrastructure and managed service environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and support VMware-based cloud and managed service platforms.
• Deliver complex engineering projects across virtualisation, infrastructure and Kubernetes environments.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD capabilities.
• Drive improvements in standardisation, operational efficiency and service reliability.
• Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point.
• Produce technical documentation, runbooks and operational standards.
• Work closely with Architecture, Operations and Delivery teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong VMware infrastructure experience.
• Hands‑on Kubernetes administration and platform engineering experience.
• Infrastructure as Code skills, ideally Terraform and Kubernetes manifests.
• Experience with automation, scripting and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of GitHub, GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Experience

• VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, NSX and vSAN
• VMware Cloud Director
• Multi-tenant private cloud environments
• Linux administration
• Monitoring, observability and resilience engineering

Remote based. Paying between 70,000-80,000, depending on experience. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
