We are working on behalf of a reputable Accident Repair Centre in Bedford to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller. This is a senior Workshop Controller role ideal for a skilled professional looking to join a growing team within a well-established business. The successful Workshop Controller will oversee workshop operations, ensuring efficiency, repair quality, and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Manage the daily workflow of the bodyshop, ensuring smooth vehicle progression through repairs
• Allocate repair jobs to technicians based on their skills and workload
• Monitor repair progress and ensure jobs are completed within planned timescales
• Liaise with the Bodyshop Manager and wider team to maintain operational efficiency
• Ensure technicians have the necessary parts, information, and resources
• Conduct regular quality checks to uphold repair standards
• Support technicians with technical or repair-related questions
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
• Work collaboratively with estimators, parts personnel, and the wider team to meet repair targets

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Workshop Controller within an accident repair centre or bodyshop
• Strong knowledge of vehicle accident repair processes and workflow
• Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload effectively
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Attention to detail and a focus on repair quality
• Ability to motivate and support a team of technicians
• Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude
• Experience working to manufacturer or insurer repair standards is advantageous
