We’re looking for a creative, passionate Head Chef to join us at an incredibly exciting time, ahead of the opening of Wendover Manor, our brand-new 55-bedroom care home in Wendover. You’ll have the autonomy and support to shape our food offer, develop our menus and build a fantastic kitchen team ready for opening, creating something you can genuinely be proud of.
You’ll be an experienced chef with strong kitchen leadership skills, commercial awareness and a real passion for food. Just as importantly, we want someone who doesn’t want to spend their whole day behind the kitchen door. You’ll enjoy getting to know residents, listening to their feedback and working collaboratively with our Management, Hospitality, Care and Wellness teams. You’ll be given the freedom to bring ideas, creativity and personality to the role, with the backing of a supportive management team who want you to succeed.,
- Level 3 Food Safety/Food Hygiene
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent catering qualification
Food at Wendover Manor will be about much more than nutrition – it should bring people together.
You’ll create fresh, seasonal and nutritious menus, get to know our residents and their individual tastes, and work with residents and families to continually develop what we offer.
You’ll also lead and develop the kitchen team, manage budgets, ordering and suppliers, and ensure exceptional standards of food safety and quality. Specialist nutrition is an important part of the role, including supporting residents with dysphagia, malnutrition risk and dementia.
You don’t necessarily need to arrive knowing everything – we’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in learning and developing their knowledge in these areas too.
