The School and Role
We are looking for an experienced and committed SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist provision in South Harrow. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working in a smaller, supportive setting and wants to make a real difference to pupils with additional needs.
You will be working with a small class of around 10 pupils, supported by a strong team of 5 Teaching Assistants. The pupils are KS3 age but working broadly at a Primary level, so the role would suit a teacher with experience across Primary, SEN or specialist education.
The school provides a highly supportive environment, with a strong focus on individualised learning, communication, independence and helping pupils make progress at their own pace. You will work closely with the wider staff team to plan and deliver engaging lessons that are appropriately differentiated to meet the needs of each pupil.
The role would suit a teacher who is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with a genuine interest in supporting pupils with SEND. Experience working with autism, complex needs or pupils with additional communication and learning needs would be particularly beneficial.
This is initially offered on a temporary basis with the opportunity to move onto a permanent contract, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for a longer-term position within a specialist setting.
The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Experience working with pupils with SEND
Primary, SEN or specialist teaching experience
Confident adapting lessons to different learning levels
Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with pupils
