If you believe that children learn best when they are happy, curious, creative and given the freedom to explore, we would love to hear from you.

About The Hive

The Hive is a brand-new childcare setting situated within the Queensferry Community Primary School site, providing wraparound care for nursery-age children.

Our approach is centred around child-led, active and creative learning. We want children to feel safe, valued and confident as they explore their interests, develop their independence and build positive relationships.

Working closely with Queensferry Community Primary School, we aim to provide a consistent approach that supports children’s transition into full-time school.

About the Role

We are looking for a suitably experienced practitioner who is:

  • Qualified to Level 3 in Childcare, Learning, Play and Development (CCPLD) or equivalent; or
  • Qualified to Level 2 CCPLD and willing to work towards Level 3 immediately.

The successful applicant will play an important role within our team and will be responsible for managing the provision in the absence of the Person in Charge.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a new setting and help shape a positive, nurturing and creative environment from the very beginning.

We Are Looking For Someone Who…

  • Understands and values an Early Years learning environment where active and creative learning is at the heart of every day.
  • Is a positive and supportive team player.
  • Helps to create a happy working environment where challenges are approached with enthusiasm.
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of child development.
  • Has experience of successfully working with young children.
  • Is willing to work closely with the Nursery staff at Queensferry C.P., supporting consistency in practice and children’s transition.
  • Can help develop a kind, caring and inclusive culture for children, staff and families.
  • Communicates clearly, professionally and kindly with a wide range of outside agencies.
  • Holds, or is willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Is willing to undertake regulatory training as required.

Salary: £13.00 – £14.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
