What we’re looking for
Essential:
- UK-qualified Solicitor or Barrister
- Ideally 8-12 years’ PQE
- Strong experience within the banking team of a UK law firm
- Extensive experience advising on lending transactions, loan documentation and corporate security
- Good knowledge and recent experience of insolvency and restructuring
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Syndicated lending or housing association lending
- In-house legal experience within a retail financial institution
- Legal advice on regulatory matters, preferably in relation to retail banking
- Consumer credit legislation and regulation
- Financial crime, AML or fraud
- Technology and digital initiatives within financial services
- Payment services regulations
- General banking legal advice

You’ll need excellent judgement, attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change.
