Senior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

In this role you will lead the commercial management of multiple live projects across residential, commercial and educational sectors in the South East. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to control costs, value engineer where possible and ensure timely payments and accurate final accounts. The role suits someone with a proven main contracting background and a strong project portfolio, joining a stable, long-term environment with high client repeat business. You will shape project outcomes through effective procurement, risk forecasting and commercial governance.

Responsibilities

• Review specifications and assess cost impacts
• Procure subcontract packages to specification and budget
• Negotiate best value while maintaining quality
• Value engineer with Technical Department to reduce build costs
• Coordinate with Production during procurement and build to resolve conflicts
• Settlement of final accounts
• Forecast and mitigate cost risk
• Generate timely payments per procedures
• Report on cost movements and budgets

Key requirements

• Proven track record in a main contracting environment
• Experience managing commercial on multiple live projects
• Ability to procure subcontracts to budget and ensure value
• Strong cost control, forecasting and reporting capabilities
