Part Qualified Financial Accountant

Overview

In this role you will provide financial accounting support and ensure UK statutory reporting compliance. You will work closely with auditors and coordinate responses to audits, while managing monthly close and balance sheet reconciliations. You will use SAP for GL postings and UK GAAP adjustments, contributing to the accuracy of group reporting to US HQ and cross-border Europe. This position offers exposure to SOX controls, regulatory reporting, and continuous process improvement to simplify and strengthen controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts with supporting schedules for external audits
• Liaise with auditors and coordinate responses to audit testing
• Post UK GAAP adjustments into SAP for unconsolidated entities
• Participate in year-end SOX control audits and address KPMG queries
• Coordinate documentation requests from the Europe business
• Ensure timely internal monthly reporting to US HQ (e.g., legal reserve, environmental reserve, JV analysis)
• Execute month-end close activities (accruals, amortisations, intercompany settlements, invoicing, rentals, currency revaluations, JV accounting)
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and clear open items
• Critically review SAP entries and account variances; review lease accounting
• Undertake ad hoc statutory and analytical work for Manager UK & HQ Accounting

Key requirements

• Degree level education
• Studying for ACCA
• Experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting under FRS102
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong interpersonal skills
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritise, multitask, manage time and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• Intermediate Excel & SAP experience; Thomson Reuters OneSource Accounts Production preferred but not essential
