What you will do:
- Process and manage Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, and Discretionary Support applications, ensuring they are handled promptly and in line with legislation.
- Resolve inquiries from residents, landlords, and external agencies regarding housing and council tax matters.
- Advise clients on welfare assistance and direct them to appropriate agencies for additional support.
- Verify and update Council Tax account information ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Initiate actions for the recovery of overpayments, adhering to established procedures.
- Adapt to service needs, demonstrating flexibility in your approach.
- GCSE English and Maths grade A-C or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrable experience in assessing Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction claims.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures.
- Strong organisational skills and adept at managing your own workload in a busy environment.
- Proficient with MS 365 Tools and possess a high degree of computer literacy.
- Proven customer service skills and a talent for financial calculations.
