Senior Platform Engineer

Company: numi
Apply for the Senior Platform Engineer
Location: London
Job Description:

Numi are partnering with an innovative, high-growth AI and data intelligence platform to hire a Senior Platform Engineer who thrives on cross-functional problem-solving. This isn’t a siloed DevOps or pure backend role it’s designed for a versatile engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between customer-facing feature development, cloud infrastructure, and delivery pipelines.

You’ll join a nimble, high-impact engineering team tightly integrated with Product. One week you might be tuning an application service or data ingestion pipeline; the next, you could be diagnosing an EKS cluster, driving GitOps automation, or strengthening system observability.

Why Join?

  • High Ownership: True autonomy to evaluate, prototype, build, and embed internal tools and platform improvements for the team.
  • Product-Minded Culture: Work closely with product partners to shape features from concept to production.
  • Agile Scale-Up Vibe: A tight-knit, collaborative team that values fast prototyping, pragmatic execution, and technical curiosity.

What You’ll Bring (Essential)

  • Broad Engineering Scope: Deep expertise in at least one modern language/platform, with the ability to quickly get productive across others.
  • Full-Stack Understanding: Solid grasp of how frontend and backend architectures interconnect.
  • Language Flexibility: Practical experience across TypeScript (main language), Python, and .NET (willingness to jump into each as the problem demands).
  • Cloud & Containers: Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes (EKS preferred, including container troubleshooting, networking, permissions, and production diagnostics). GCP or Azure experience is also welcome.
  • Infrastructure as Code & Delivery: Proficiency with Terraform (or similar), GitOps, and ArgoCD.
  • Production Reliability: Strong foundation in CI/CD, observability, secrets management, and safe production deployment practices.
  • AI-Assisted Workflows: Confident, responsible use of modern coding agents or LLMs, backed by strong testing and verification habits.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features, RAG architectures, agentic workflows, or evaluation tooling.
  • Exposure to modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).
  • Knowledge of event messaging, vector search, or high-volume data pipelines (RabbitMQ, Celery, embeddings, vector databases).
  • Track record of improving cloud cost visibility, security posture, and DR/multi-environment consistency.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth SaaS or data-product environment where engineers own services end-to-end.
