About the Role
As a Domiciliary Care & Support Worker, you will provide practical and person-centred support to children and adults in their own homes and, where appropriate, within the community.
The individuals we support have varying levels of care needs. Some require assistance with everyday activities, personal care and household routines, while others need more specialised support due to learning disabilities, complex health conditions, mobility difficulties or additional behavioural and communication needs.
You will be expected to develop an understanding of each person’s individual requirements and provide support in accordance with their care and support plans, risk assessments and agreed routines.
The role requires patience, good observation skills, professional judgement and the ability to adapt your approach to the needs of each individual.

Communicate effectively with individuals, families, colleagues, management and other professionals.
Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality and respect for each individual’s dignity, privacy and choices.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency and continuity of care.

Applicants must be willing to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends on a rolling rota, in accordance with agreed working arrangements.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes are essential requirements for this position. Appropriate business-use motor insurance will be required.
You will be expected to travel between individuals’ homes and attend allocated care visits punctually.

Training and Development
Successful applicants will receive induction and training relevant to their responsibilities and the needs of the individuals they support.
Training may include safeguarding adults and children, medication administration, moving and handling, infection prevention and control, positive behaviour support and other areas relevant to individual care needs.
Additional training and competency assessments will be provided where specific clinical or complex care responsibilities form part of the role.
Employees will be expected to participate in regular supervision, competency assessments and ongoing professional development, including relevant health and social care qualifications where appropriate.
Previous experience in care is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals who demonstrate the appropriate values, reliability and willingness to learn.
Safer Recruitment
Alexandra House Support Services is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children and adults receiving care and support.

Who We Are Looking For
