We are seeking a full-time Receptionist/Administrative Support Assistant to start as soon as possible. The role will involve support for the school’s general administration including reception duties, and other key functions such as Groupcall, our home-school communication. There are two busy receptions in school and we anticipate the postholder being based in our main visitor reception. This role will involve some first-aid duties and the successful candidate should be willing to undertake any necessary training.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative skills, IT skills and be highly efficient and organised. Whilst experience in a school is not essential, we are looking for someone who is used to operating IT systems in a front of house setting. The post requires you to be able to deal sensitively with a variety of situations with students, staff, parents and external organisations. An ability to remain calm in stressful situations and a flexible approach with highly accurate written communication skills are essential. The hours of work are 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday – Friday, with a 3.30pm finish on Fridays. King Edward VI School is a popular 11-18 comprehensive school rated Good by OfSTED in 2022 with recognition of outstanding practice and a highly positive ethos. The school is well-regarded within the community and has a reputation for high quality teaching. Lichfield is a small, vibrant cathedral city which is easily accessible from the surrounding areas.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure & Barring Service (Formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose all criminal convictions.
