Director – Expert Witness (Delay)

Overview

Senior Director-level role in Paris focusing on delay and disruption expert witness services for high-value projects. You will lead delay analysis for major building, engineering, infrastructure and energy schemes, supporting contractors, law firms and employers in disputes and arbitrations. You’ll help shape regional strategy, develop business streams and mentor the team. This is a growth- and client-facing position with a strong emphasis on testimony in French and on-site project experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expert Witness services for delay-related claims to regional and international clients
• Deliver high-level delay analysis on major projects across construction sectors
• Represent clients in disputes, tribunals, and arbitrations
• Develop new business streams and contribute to regional strategy
• Recruit, mentor and develop junior staff
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence business direction
• Ensure high-quality reporting in French and English
• Maintain confidentiality and manage client-facing communications

Key requirements

• Relevant degree and qualifications (ideally FCIArb / MSc Construction Law, LLM or similar)
• Experience delivering expert witness and dispute resolution services in mainland Europe
• Experience on multimillion-pound disputes representing main contractors, clients, or law firms
• Background in Planning / Delay Analysis with extensive support to Experts
• On-site project delivery experience preferred
• Strong French language skills and report-writing ability for testimony
