Launch and Project Management – Placement Year

Overview

In this internship, you support apprentice onboarding, engagement and school events within the Future Talent team. You will help plan and run apprentice activities and recruitment events while gaining hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing. You’ll work on launch and series activities and collaborate with process partners to understand how high‑luxury cars are made. This role offers practical learning from day one and a chance to shape the early careers program at a world‑class manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Support apprentice onboarding, marketing and school events
• Plan and run apprentice engagement activities (e.g., Assessment Centres, Welcome Evenings)
• Contribute to launch or series activities for pre-series cars and bespoke features
• Maintain close contact with process partners to understand manufacturing processes
• Take responsibility for own projects and present outcomes to process partners and teams
• Support managers with reporting and presentations to BMW and partner departments

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering (or pursuing towards) with 2:2 or above, or Master’s degree
• Engineering-related coursework or understanding of automotive processes
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Power BI; familiarity with Copilot
• Clear and concise communication of solutions
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-quality environment
• Eligibility to work in the UK for the placement duration and return to studies afterwards
