BMS Commissioning Engineer

Overview

In this field-based role, you will commission BMS and control systems across the London and South East region, delivering projects for commercial offices, healthcare and datacentres. You will craft software strategies and graphics, perform wiring checks and plant start-ups, and provide technical support to other trades. Your work drives reliable building control systems and energy efficiency for SSE Smart Buildings’ clients. This is a hands-on, customer-facing position with a focus on quality delivery and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute to SSE’s mission of sustainable, zero-carbon buildings at scale.

Responsibilities

• Commission the installation of BMS and Control systems as directed by the Project Manager
• Develop software strategies and graphics for control systems
• Perform physical wiring checks and plant start-ups
• Provide technical support to other trades and sub-contractors
• Troubleshoot system defects to ensure reliable operation

Key requirements

• Experience commissioning BMS and Control systems, especially Siemens PX and Trend IQ4
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Experience crafting software strategies and graphics
• Full driving licence due to frequent travel
