The Opportunity
We are working with an established international organisation seeking an experienced Workday HRIS Support Consultant to provide hands-on functional support during a period of business and technology transformation.
The organisation operates across multiple countries and requires a proactive, knowledgeable Workday professional who can take ownership of day-to-day support requests, resolve issues efficiently and build strong relationships with HR stakeholders.
This is an operational, hands-on position rather than a large-scale implementation role. We are looking for someone who understands Workday, enjoys problem-solving and can work independently to deliver a responsive, high-quality service.
You will work closely with HR and Technology teams, alongside an external Workday support partner responsible for more complex technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Functional Support
- Provide first-line functional support across Workday, managing tickets, user requests and operational queries.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve Workday issues independently.
- Support organisational structure changes, employee movements and reporting-line updates.
- Manage reporting requests, employee data extracts and data-related queries.
- Support absence management queries, including country-specific processes and requirements.
- Prioritise requests effectively and ensure issues are progressed through to resolution.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted point of contact for HR stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with HR Operations and Technology teams.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into practical Workday solutions.
- Provide clear communication and regular updates on outstanding requests.
- Take ownership of issues and ensure stakeholders receive a professional, responsive service.
Third-Party Support Management
- Coordinate with an external Workday support provider for second- and third-line technical support.
- Identify when issues require escalation and provide the appropriate supporting information.
- Track outstanding issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain effective communication between internal stakeholders and external technical teams.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve Workday support processes and ticket management.
- Help establish clearer ownership of activities between HR Operations and Technology.
- Support improvements to documentation, knowledge sharing and operational processes.
- Contribute to the stability and continuity of Workday services during wider organisational change.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Hands-on Workday experience, ideally within an HRIS Analyst, Workday Support Analyst or Functional Support role.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM and associated HR processes.
- Practical experience supporting organisational structures, reporting, employee data and absence management.
- Proven ability to investigate and resolve Workday support tickets independently.
- Experience working directly with HR stakeholders and understanding their operational requirements.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and take full ownership of issues through to resolution.
Desirable
- Experience supporting Workday across multiple countries.
- Experience working with external Workday support consultancies or managed service providers.
- Understanding of HR Operations and HRIS support models.
- Experience supporting organisations undergoing HR technology or operational transformation.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who combines strong practical Workday knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
You will be comfortable handling day-to-day support requests, working independently and taking responsibility for ensuring issues are resolved.
This position would suit an experienced Workday HRIS Analyst or Support Consultant who enjoys being hands-on and making a tangible difference to the experience of HR users.
Above all, we need someone who is proactive, dependable, approachable and capable of building trust with stakeholders.
Contract Details & Future Programme
This is an initial six-month contract offering predominantly remote working, with occasional travel to the London office for meetings and stakeholder engagement.
The organisation is currently undertaking a wider HR technology transformation, with plans to migrate from Workday to a new HRIS platform over the next two to three years.
With this transformation already underway, there is an ongoing requirement to maintain and support the existing Workday environment while the new platform is developed and implemented
.
This presents an excellent opportunity to join a business during a significant period of change, providing continuity and support to HR stakeholders while contributing to the wider evolution of its HR technology landscape.
The organisation is looking to move quickly and would welcome applications from consultants available immediately or at short notice.
