The Role
As the named Transport Manager on the Operator Licence, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and efficient transport operations across both locations. Reporting to the Regional Transport Manager, you will lead a large transport team, maintain the organisation’s excellent compliance standards and drive operational performance.
You will be a key member of the site leadership team, championing a strong safety culture while delivering exceptional service to customers.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the named Transport Manager on the Operator LicenceEnsure full compliance with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence requirements and transport legislationLead and develop transport teams across multiple locationsDrive a proactive safety-first culture and support risk reduction initiativesManage daily transport operations involving cylinder and specialist gas deliveriesOversee budgets, resource planning and operational performanceBuild strong relationships with internal departments including Sales, Production and Customer ServiceManage contractor and third-party supplier performanceSupport continuous improvement and transport optimisation initiativesLead employee relations activities, including Trade Union engagement where requiredAbout You To be successful in this role, you will have:A valid Transport Manager CPC (essential)Experience leading multi-site transport operationsStrong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance requirementsExperience managing large transport teamsExcellent understanding of transport legislation, tachograph regulations and compliance standardsStrong budget management and commercial awarenessOutstanding leadership and people management skillsExperience working within a unionised environment (desirable)ADR knowledge or experience within hazardous goods transport (desirable)NEBOSH qualification (desirable)
