We’re recruiting a Whey Processing Production Manager to lead operations at a state-of-the-art whey ultrafiltration facility. It’s a senior role with full ownership of upstream and downstream processing, producing high-quality whey protein and lactose-based nutrition products for global customers in infant formula, health and food.

The Role
As Whey Processing Production Manager, you will:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient operation, cleaning and maintenance of the plant
- Manage upstream and downstream whey processing to optimise output, cost and quality
- Build and use process trends to drive data-led decisions
- Investigate and resolve quality issues, putting corrective actions in place
- Run trials and adjust input parameters to improve yield, output and efficiency
- Identify bottlenecks and work with Engineering to fix them
- Act as a key contact for external customers, making sure their expectations are met
- Maintain compliance with food safety, quality, health and safety, and operational standards
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead investment projects towards world-class manufacturing
The Person
- Third-level qualification in an applied science, ideally chemical or mechanical engineering or significant production management experience
- 5+ years in food processing management or similar
- Strong technical and analytical skills in a continuous or complex processing environment
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
- A track record of operational excellence across quality, cost, output and CI
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, both internally and with customers
