Field Engineer
Cala Consulting are recruiting a Field Engineer for their specialist client. The company deliver commercial and industrial power and energy projects across Northern Ireland, the UK and Europe, working on technically demanding projects across sectors including healthcare, data centres, financial institutions and large-scale industrial environments.
The role will suit an ambitious electrical engineer looking to develop their experience across larger and more technically diverse power and energy systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge across secure power, renewable energy and critical power systems, with clear opportunities for progression and further technical training.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Install, commission and maintain secure power and renewable energy systems
- Work independently and as part of wider site teams on live projects
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors and other trades on site
- Support fault-finding, testing and commissioning activities
- Participate in an on-call rota of approximately 1-in-4 weeks, with additional pay for on-call periods
- Travel throughout Ireland, with occasional travel to the UK and Europe
Essential Criteria
- Approximately 5 years experience within the electrical industry preferred, although candidates with less experience who demonstrate the required skills are encouraged to apply
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities
- Good computer literacy and the ability to complete site documentation
- Clear communication skills and a professional presence on site
- Full, clean driving licence
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with UPS systems, Solar PV, EV charging or battery storage
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Knowledge of DC power systems
