Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Days)
Location: Eye, Suffolk
Salary: £53,000 per annum
A leading FMCG food manufacturer is recruiting for a Senior Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a modern, high-care production facility in Suffolk.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role, suited to an experienced multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault-finding, improving asset reliability, and supporting site-wide engineering standards within a regulated food manufacturing environment.
The Role
– Planned preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance across site assets – Electrical and mechanical fault-finding, including PLC-controlled systems – Supporting equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement projects – Use of CMMS systems to manage PPMs, breakdowns, and maintenance records – Supporting food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance (BRC environment) – Liaising with contractors and supporting engineering projects
What Were Looking For
– NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering – Proven experience in FMCG or food manufacturing – Strong fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems – Experience with PLCs, control systems, pneumatics, and heavy machinery – Familiarity with planned maintenance systems and CMMS – Comfortable working in a high-care, regulated environment – 18th Edition, food safety, IOSHH, or similar qualifications are advantageous but not essential
