Cloud Engineer

Overview

In this Cloud Engineer role, you’ll strengthen Microsoft cloud environments and progressively branch into customer consultancy, solution design, and pre-sales. You’ll work across Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and SharePoint to improve security, governance, and automation. The position blends internal support with client-facing design and advisory work, offering exposure to automation initiatives and future AI adoption. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions that align with the company’s growth and transformation goals. This is a hybrid role with a clear path to advisory and pre-sales impact.

Responsibilities

• Own Microsoft cloud environments, initially internal, then expanding to customer consultancy and delivery
• Advise customers on Microsoft cloud solutions including discovery, scoping, licensing and pre-sales
• Design, implement, and improve Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune and SharePoint solutions
• Improve security and governance via vulnerability remediation and Cyber Essentials compliance
• Act as escalation point for complex Microsoft cloud issues
• Drive automation and service improvements using Power Automate and Microsoft technologies
• Produce technical documentation and review backup and disaster recovery plans; upskill colleagues

Key requirements

• Strong experience as a Cloud Engineer or senior Microsoft engineer with ability to resolve complex issues
• In-depth Microsoft 365 admin and troubleshooting across Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint, Exchange Online
• Practical Azure administration including server infrastructure and networking
• Experience with vulnerability scanning/remediation (Nessus/Tenable or equivalent) and Cyber Essentials knowledge
• Understanding of cloud security, governance, backup and disaster recovery
• MSP or multi-tenant experience preferred; open to complex internal IT environments
• Confident communicating technical solutions to customers with an interest in consultancy/pre-sales
• Strong documentation skills and willingness to share knowledge
• Power Automate experience; Microsoft certifications (MD-102, MS-102, AZ-104) advantageous
• Driving licence and willingness to attend office as required
