Backend Java Engineer – Revenue Cloud Rating

Overview

In this role you design, build, and operate backend services in a Java-based, event-driven microservices setup, with AI integrated into the development workflow. You will evaluate code for quality and security while navigating ambiguity as the team transitions into a new organizational structure. You’ll work closely with a remote, UK-based team to scale high-volume, low-latency pricing rating within Revenue Cloud. This is a chance to shape an AI-enabled backend platform at a market-leading company.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services in a Java-based event-driven microservices architecture
• Make technical decisions under incomplete information as the team learns and transitions
• Critically review code from teammates and AI-generated outputs for correctness, quality, security, and performance

Key requirements

• 4-5 years of backend Java experience
• Experience building and operating microservice and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) and prompt engineering skills
• Ability to work independently and with tolerance for ambiguity
