Senior/Site Engineer

Overview

As Site Supervisor for a £70m DfE education project in Birmingham, you will oversee site safety, subcontract packages, and QA across groundworks to internals. You’ll coordinate with the Project Manager, review drawings and specifications, and ensure delivery to required standards. You will provide clear progress reports and resolve technical queries with external parties. This freelance role offers hands-on site leadership in a high-profile construction program with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• supervise subcontract packages from groundworks to internals
• manage health & safety on site
• produce and manage QA documentation
• review drawings and specifications for compliance with standards
• provide progress reports to management
• assist with technical/design issues and queries
• coordinate with external parties to resolve issues
• conduct day-to-day site management and team coordination
• attend client and subcontractor progress meetings

Key requirements

• CSCS card (minimum)
• full IT proficiency
• site supervision experience on similar projects
• ability to review drawings and specifications
• strong communication with clients and subcontractors
• comfort working in a freelance role and reporting to Project Manager
