Senior AI Engineer with Global Commodity Trading Company

Overview

In this contract role, you will design and build advanced AI solutions for a strategic project in the commodities/energy trading domain. You will work on agentic AI, RAG, GraphRAG, knowledge graphs and semantic layers to move experiments toward scalable production. The position supports a long-term engagement with possible transition to permanent staff, offering exposure to cross-functional teams and real-world, high-impact problems. You will shape AI-powered capabilities that enhance trading workflows and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced AI solutions including agentic AI, RAG, GraphRAG, knowledge graphs and semantic layers
• Translate experimental technologies into scalable production systems
• Apply AI capabilities to energy trading, commodities, and financial markets domains
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI components into trading workflows
• Support ongoing strategic project with potential contract extensions or permanent transition

Key requirements

• Experience in Commodities, Energy Trading, Financial Markets, Supply Chain or similar complex commercial environments
• Strong hands-on background in AI engineering and software development
• Experience building with LLMs, agents, RAG and modern AI frameworks
• Strong understanding of knowledge graphs, large-scale graph technologies, GraphQL and semantic modelling
• Experience taking experimental technologies from prototypes to production
