Project Engineering Manager

Overview

As Project Engineering Manager, you will provide technical and administrative leadership to a team of engineers and technicians to deliver engineering projects on time, within budget, and with managed risk. You will work with stakeholders to plan, execute, and integrate activities across engineering functions, potentially overseeing small projects or departments. This role combines people leadership with hands-on problem solving to support the Future Radar program and broader defence technology goals. You’ll contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture and help shape radar innovations for future threats.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day delivery for projects, subcontracts, vendors or accounts
• Plan and supervise work of engineers to accomplish projects
• Direct work assignments, scheduling, and progress reviews
• Handle personnel actions including performance reviews and training coordination
• Review technical feasibility and assist in solving difficult engineering problems
• Maintain technical accountability for team outputs and ensure integration with wider engineering functions

Key requirements

• Experience leading engineers in a technical environment
• Proven track record in engineering management or technical leadership
• Technical qualification in engineering or STEM-related discipline
• CEng (or equivalent) or working towards Chartership
