Business Development Manager

Overview

In this role you drive revenue growth for Arnold Clark’s Central Car Auctions business in Lingfield. You will identify and secure new opportunities while nurturing key client relationships to deliver sustainable long-term value. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to implement effective sales strategies in a competitive market. Your impact spans pipeline development, client expansion, and market insight to shape growth. This is a hands-on role for a target-driven professional who wants to influence automotive sales at scale.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a qualified pipeline across target markets
• Identify high-potential clients, partnerships, and contract opportunities
• Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive engagement and negotiation
• Establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders
• Maintain regular touchpoints with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and retention
• Identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts
• Collaborate with operations and product development to deliver client requirements efficiently
• Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and evolving customer needs with Head of Business Development

Key requirements

• B2B experience in the automotive sector
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Strong commercial acumen with data and market trend analysis capability
• Proficient in CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
