General Manager – New BTR Scheme – Dagenham – up to 70k+ Bonus

Overview

As General Manager for a brand-new build-to-rent development in Dagenham, you own the onsite lettings and property management, driving rental growth and occupancy while controlling operating costs. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, delivering an exceptional resident experience and a strong community feel. You’ll oversee health, safety, compliance, and sustainability, while building local relationships to raise the asset’s profile. This is a hands-on, outcome-focused role within a regeneration project offering significant impact and long-term value.

Responsibilities

• Own the P&L and drive commercial performance, occupancy, and cost control
• Lead and develop the onsite team across leasing, facilities and customer service
• Deliver a standout resident experience through amenities, events and community engagement
• Oversee daily property operations, health and safety, compliance and sustainability
• Build local relationships with businesses and the Dagenham community
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and asset value

Key requirements

• Three years+ of leadership experience in build-to-rent, PBSA, hospitality or similar residential setting
• Strong commercial awareness with budgeting, occupancy and customer service focus
• Hands-on, owning mentality with ability to balance strategic oversight and day-to-day details
• Willingness to establish operational standards and create a sense of community
• Propertymark, IRPM or IOSH qualifications are advantageous but not essential
