Team Manager, Children’s Brokerage and Quality

Overview

In this role you will lead the Children’s Brokerage and Quality function to secure safe, appropriate placements for children in care and care leavers, while developing in-house children’s homes. You will manage a multi-disciplinary team and oversee a multi-million pound budget to maximise value for money. You’ll partner with senior leaders to drive safeguarding, commissioning, and quality packages, and help expand locally owned residential provision. This is a mission-driven opportunity to improve life chances for looked-after children.

Responsibilities

• Commission placements and support packages with a focus on value for money against a 14m+ budget
• Develop and progress in-house children’s home provision locally
• Provide professional support and challenge to brokerage accommodation for children in care and care leavers
• Manage approximately 8 staff including senior practitioners and officers
• Oversee quality packages including short breaks and secure transport
• Collaborate with independent fostering agencies, children’s homes, residential and special schools
• Support articulation of clear safeguarding and life-chances outcomes for young people
