Lead Network Architect

Overview

In this role you will shape Mastercard’s global network architecture to support secure, scalable payments services. You will own technology roadmaps and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with business goals. You’ll tackle complex design challenges across multi-vendor environments, improving performance, reliability, and security. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on defining architectural standards and driving impactful network initiatives. You will work to ensure Mastercard’s network remains fit-for-purpose as the business and technology landscape evolves.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain network architecture blueprints, standards, and roadmaps for platform and infrastructure components
• Design and implement approaches for optimal performance, reliability, and security; identify improvement areas
• Update and enforce technology component standards (networking, security, operating systems)
• Monitor network security and governance to ensure safeguards are effective
• Lead development projects focused on performance, reliability, and security; drive implementations
• Resolve complex architecture issues and escalate when necessary

Key requirements

• Experience leading a major work stream or multiple smaller work streams in a large domain initiative
• Proven ability to engage with the technical community to anticipate and recommend future requirements
• Track record of selecting/evaluating new technologies aligned with industry trends
• Multi-vendor experience (Cisco, F5, Palo Alto) and design-level expertise
• Industry certification or long-standing design experience in networking
